You’ll find cultural events taking place around every corner in Valletta, and the annual Delicata Wine Festival is the perfect excuse to visit Malta this August!

Book your smart space in Valletta and mark your calendars – the Delicata Wine Festival will take place from 8-11 August at the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

Delicata Wines: A Family Tradition

Year after year, the Delicata Malta Wine Festival attracts crowds from all corners of the Maltese islands and beyond. As Malta’s oldest winery, Delicata Malta was established in 1907, and has been synonymous with quality Maltese wines ever since.

Now in its fourth generation, Delicata wines have won over 100 local and international awards. So come and take your pick from the wide selection of Maltese wines, including a choice of white, red and rosé wines from Delicata’s award-winning brands.

All Happening at the Upper Barakka Gardens

We couldn’t imagine a better location to experience the bounty of Maltese wines than at the Upper Barakka Gardens, overlooking the magnificent Grand Harbour in Valletta. These four summer evenings from 8-11 August will be filled with wine, food and music – the perfect solution for a summer night out.

Upon entering the gardens, your ticket will be exchanged for a wine purse filled with 24 wine coins and a wineglass (which you can keep as a souvenir, too). Plus, the location is a wonderful place to watch the sunset. Come early – the event comes to a close at midnight.

Ready to call it a night… or not quite?

As you walk back to your hotel in Valletta through the quietened, starlit streets, you will notice a change in the city’s atmosphere. The shop windows are closed for the night, and the busy workers return to their homes for some well-deserved rest. But if you take a detour through Valletta’s cobblestoned backstreets, you will find that the city may be sleeping, but the locals are definitely not!
